Strange New Worlds…

Bringing in the sheep

Continuing from the insurance saga.

NRMA finally get the Tesla booked in for repair at Scientific Motor Body Works at Matraville. I arrive on the morning of August 12th (Monday), 83 days after the accident at Linden.

By now I’m a bit jaded and grateful that the process is pretty straightforward. They’ve booked a cab to get me across to Maroubra to pick up a ‘rental’ from Avis. And it’s interesting to reflect that at the time there was no sense of the long haul that this was going to turn into: however; drop the Tesla off and head over to Maroubra.

Over at Avis everyone is helpful, all the paperwork happens with a minimum of fuss and the car is easy to find, despite being in the bowels of the car park. The silver Toyota Corolla is a ghost from the past. After over 3 years behind the wheel of a Tesla it was like stepping into a T-Model Ford.
