The show runs April 29th to May 9th and officially opens this Saturday, May 2nd.

It’s often the ordinary things in life that make for extraordinary moments.
Coming back from Tasmania after a quick three day visit earlier in the year. An out of season cold spell had swept through just before leaving. Took this shot from the window during re-fueling. iPhone + Hipstamatic and a little editing.
This is just plain gorgeous. All footage shot on either iPhone or iPad using the FiLMiC Pro app and an anamorphic lens adapter from Moondog Studios. Sean Baker’s ‘Tangerine’ shot entirely using FiLMiC Pro was picked up at this years Sundance Film Festival for distribution by Magnolia Pictures

Sometime mid 2014 Queensland University Press approached me with a request to use a photograph of mine that designer Sandy Cull had found on my Flickr feed, for the cover of an upcoming publication ‘The Ash Burner’ by Kari Gislason. This was a new gig for me and working through the release process was a healthy learning curve and possibly an exasperating on for the publishers. The reality of having a well respected designer in the person of Sandy Cull and Q.U.P. having the confidence in the image to carry the book to its conclusion and, in a nice way, validated what I do on a day to day basis.
Sometime earlier I posted stills of this event. However I recently uncovered some video footage of this massive spinning cloud mass. It’s been sped up somewhat to make the rotation nice and clear. About 90 seconds of footage dropped to around 10.
Not long back from a few days in Tasmania. Albeit a short trip, it served to remind me that Tassie is still quite a unique place.
This is old country and all that’s left of part of a range of mountains that formed some 80 million years ago. Getting lost in this is a nasty business.
